In Their Own Story

The theft began in 2015 after Marty McFly purchased the almanac and Doc Brown warned him against profiting from time travel. Before they could dispose of it properly, police found Jennifer Parker incapacitated, prompting a pursuit by an elderly Biff who had overheard their conversation and retrieved the discarded book. Biff stole the DeLorean time machine and returned to November 12, 1955, giving his younger self the Almanac. Years later in the resulting alternate 1985, Biff used the book to build an empire. Marty and Doc eventually tracked him down, learned of the transfer date, and returned to 1955. There, young Biff attempted to destroy the book by throwing it into a trash can during a storm. As he did so, he was goaded into a fight with Marty, losing his grip on the Almanac. Marty chased him on a hoverboard, retrieved the book, and burned it in front of Doc Brown's hovering time machine, nullifying the timeline changes instantly.
